Another great year is planned for the Road Runner Akron Marathon. The course will follow the same path as last year, beginning in Downtown Akron, Ohio in front of Morley Heath Center and finishing in Canal Park Stadium.

The course is fully supported with:
• 19 Fluid Stations (located at the start, 1.9, 4, 6.6, 8.4, 9.2, 10.5, 11.3, 12.41, 14.4, 15.75, 17.7, 19.27. 19.9, 20.9, 22.5, 23.3, 24.2 & 24.7) and (11.1H & 12.2H for the Half)
• 4 GU Energy Gel stations (located at 10.4, 15.7, 19.2, 23.25)
• More than 20 entertainment spots
• More than 200 portable restrooms
• 14 First-Aid Stations
• Clocks at every mile and split
• Mile Markers and 5-K Kilometer Markers
• Fans cheering you on along the way
• 2,500 Volunteers
Course Surface
The majority of this scenic and rolling course is run on concrete and paved asphalt with a four mile strectch on the Towpath trail, which is a crushed limestone surface. Click this link to view our Course Video.
Not Permitted On Course
The Road Runner Akron Marathon does not permit: pets, skateboards, bicycles, roller blades, other types of vehicles (other than official Marathon vehicles) Safety for you and other participants are of paramount importance. Please do not bring or carry any of these items with you. The Road Runner Akron Marathon reserves the right to disqualify and remove anyone from the course who has any of the above items or does not act in a safe manner. All participants agree to abide by and accept the rules of this race and abide by any decision of any race official concerning the runner’s ability to safely complete the race.
