Run for a Cause

Planning to run Akron? Why not join a charity team and cross the finish line knowing that you accomplished more than a personal goal! Each year we select a variety of charitable organization as our charity partners. Previous partnerships have included the American Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, Run MS, and Akron Children’s Hospital. Look for our complete list of charity partners in March of 2012.

 

Become a Charity Partner

The Akron Marathon is pleased to partner with charitable organizations that are looking to raise funds for their organizations in conjunction with our event. The Charity Partner Application Form must be submitted by March 1, 2012 to be considered. Click to download the Charity Partner Application.

Bronze Level

Charity Partner Requirements

  • 10 Volunteers
  • 20 registered runners (marathon, half marathon or 5 person team relay)
  • Raise $1,000 for your organization in conjunction with our event

Charity Partner Benefits

  • Logo placement on Akron Marathon website with link to organization website
  • Inclusion in Charity email blasts
  • Reduced non-profit booth rate at Health & Fitness Expo
  • Option to utilize the online donation process
  • Akron Marathon will donate $250 to your organization

Silver Level

Charity Partner Requirements

  • 20 Volunteers
  • 30 registered runners (marathon, half marathon or 5 person team relay)
  • Raise $3,000 for your organization in conjunction with our event

Charity Partner Benefits

  • Logo placement on Akron Marathon website with link to organization website
  • Inclusion in Charity email blasts
  • Reduced non-profit booth rate at Health & Fitness Expo
  • Option to utilize the online donation process
  • Akron Marathon will donate $500 to your organization

Gold Level

Charity Partner Requirements

  • 25 Volunteers
  • 50 registered runners (marathon, half marathon or 5 person team relay)
  • Raise $5,000 for your organization in conjunction with our event

Charity Partner Benefits

  • Logo placement on Akron Marathon website with link to organization website
  • Inclusion in Charity email blasts
  • Reduced non-profit booth rate at Health & Fitness Expo
  • Option to utilize the online donation process
  • Akron Marathon will donate $1,000 to your organization
