THE AKRON MARATHON NEEDS VOLUNTEERS!
In fact, from now to Race Day, we need more than 3,000 volunteers to help make the Akron Marathon a world-class event and a great success for the runners, their families, the spectators, and for the City of Akron.
Volunteers are essential to the success of our event. They are vital in providing a safe, organized, and fun race. As a volunteer for the Akron Marathon, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to your community, to meet new people, and to share your skills and talents.
We are looking for groups as well as individuals.

Minimum Age to Volunteer – 14 years old on Race Day
Volunteer Trainings
Volunteer trainings are a wonderful opportunity to meet with your volunteer coordinator, gather information, and ask any outstanding questions you may have regarding your volunteer assignment.
There will be two volunteer training sessions offered. Volunteers are encourages to attend one of these trainings. Trainings will last approximately 1 hour. Group leaders may attend on behalf of their group.
Volunteer Training dates for 2013 will be posted in early Spring
The Akron Marathon is excited to announce a new opportunity in which volunteers can be trained in citizen CPR. The American Red Cross (ARC) will be offering a 45 minute class prior to or immediately following the Akron Marathon Volunteer Training. Topics covered will include: Cardiac Arrest and CPR, and Heat-Related Emergencies. The cost for the ARC training is $5 (cash only, collected at the door). Please take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to improve the health and safety of our community.
