AKRON, O.H. (Nov. 20, 2025) — The Akron Marathon Charitable Corporation is honored to announce the success of its Corporate Challenge Program, sponsored by the County of Summit.
The Corporate Challenge has proven to be a catalyst for a fun and competitive environment, promoting health, fitness, and wellness at every level in the local business community. From couch to 8k, to first-time marathoners, this challenge provides a turnkey program that seamlessly integrates into corporate wellness initiatives.
“Summit County businesses have once again rallied around the marathon tradition, embracing friendly competition and a focus on health and wellness,” said Ilene Shapiro, Summit County Executive. “The Corporate Challenge showcases the teamwork and community pride that make Summit County such a special place to live and work.”
More than 1,700 runners across 26 companies participated in the Corporate Challenge this racing season, turning it into a platform for a healthy and vibrant corporate culture. The awards ceremony took place on Nov. 19, 2025, at the Summit County Chambers, and honored outstanding achievements and celebrated the winners in various categories.
