Akron, OH (Nov. 28, 2023) — The Akron Marathon Charitable Corporation is honored to announce the success of its Corporate Challenge Program, sponsored by the County of Summit.
The Corporate Challenge has proven to be a catalyst for a fun and competitive environment, promoting health, fitness, and wellness at every level in the local business community. From couch to 8k, to first-time marathoners, this challenge provides a turnkey program that seamlessly integrates into corporate wellness initiatives.
“Summit County businesses have always been collaborative partners and we knew the Corporate Challenge would be another great way for businesses large and small to get involved,” said Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro. “The initiative not only promotes health and wellness but helps strengthen that sense of community that makes Summit County such a special place to work and live.”
More than 1,200 runners across 34 companies participated in the Corporate Challenge this racing season, turning it into a platform for a healthy and vibrant corporate culture. The awards ceremony took place on Nov. 21, 2023, at the Summit County Chambers, and honored outstanding achievements and celebrated the winners in various categories.
