Each year, thousands of participants, volunteers, and spectators come together through the Akron Marathon Race Series and our year-round programs. Akron Children’s

Akron Children’s is an independent, nonprofit pediatric health care system that has been caring for children since 1890. With two hospital campuses, seven regional health centers and more than 50 primary and specialty care locations throughout Ohio, we are the only health care system in our region fully dedicated to pediatric care. With our vast network of Akron Children’s Pediatrics offices, we offer convenient access to expert pediatric primary care for patients from infancy through young adulthood. From our School-Based Health Care to our Quick Care Online virtual visits and Akron Children’s Anywhere app, we make it easy for today’s busy families to find the high-quality care they need. In 2023, our health care system provided nearly 1.4 million patient encounters and employed more than 7,000 employees.

Alzheimer’s Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter

The Alzheimer’s Association leads the way to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support. The Greater East Ohio Area Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association has worked to uplift and empower those facing Alzheimer’s and all other dementia across 16 counties through our free care and support services. From Akron to Canton, from the Mahoning Valley to Summit County and every town in between, the Greater East Ohio Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is here to help.

Girls on the Run has fun, evidence-based programs that inspire participants to recognize their inner strength, increase their level of physical activity, imagine their possibilities, and confidently stand up for themselves and others.

Grace House Akron, Inc.

 

The mission of Grace House Akron is to provide a loving home for indigent, homeless and abandoned individuals at the end of life. The home provides safe shelter, care with dignity and compassion, and a nurturing environment for individuals with terminal illnesses.

Our vision is to offer access to compassionate care and comfort at end of life for all individuals in the greater Akron area.

Humane Society of Summit County

 

Humane Society of Summit County serves our community by caring and advocating for vulnerable animals and enriching the lives of pets and people. We are a no-time-limit shelter meaning we do not ever euthanize for time or space. As long as the animal is medically and behaviorally healthy, it remains with us as long as it takes to be adopted. We partner with other animal welfare organizations and specialized rescues to help find loving homes for animals when appropriate.
