SCORING

Scoring for the 2017 Corporate Cup Challenge presented by Signet Jewelers will provide multiple opportunities for an organization’s team members to earn points for their team. In order to take home the title of Corporate Cup Champion, the top organization will have to be well rounded in the areas of participation, philanthropy, volunteerism, and performance.

Participation

Earn points for each your organization’s runners in the following events:

  • Marathon = 4 team points per finisher
  • Half-Marathon = 3 team points per finisher
  • Team Relay = 10 team points per finishing team

Philanthropy

Earn points by raising funds for one of our charity partners or your charity of choice:

  • Raise over $5000 = 20 team points
  • Raise between $3000-$4999 = 15 team points
  • Raise between $1000-$2999 = 10 team points
  • Raise between $500-$999 = 5 team points

Volunteerism

Earn points for each of your organization’s volunteers:

  • Each Volunteer that is supplied from your organization to help with the events on race weekend will earn 2 points. Volunteers must sign up through the Akron Marathon’s volunteer module and indicate which company they are affiliated with to be counted.

Performance

Earn additional points by training hard and finishing in the top of your division:

  • A top 5 finish amongst Corporate Cup Challengers in the following divisions will earn your team additional points:
    • Marathon: Men’s Open, Men’s Masters, Women’s Open, Women’s Masters
    • Half Marathon: Men’s Open, Men’s Masters, Women’s Open, Women’s Masters
    • Team Relay: Men’s Open, Men’s Masters, Women’s Open, Women’s Masters, Mixed Open, Mixed Masters
  • Points breakdown for each division:
    • 1st Place = 10 points
    • 2nd Place = 8 points
    • 3rd Place = 6 points
    • 4th Place = 4 points
    • 5th Place = 2 points
