Q: What is the Akron Children's Hospital Akron Marathon Race Series?
A: The Akron Children’s Hospital Akron Marathon Race Series was created with the goal of raising money for the hospital in its efforts to serve the children and families of our community. The series will include events on June 27, August 8, & September 26 and each event will include the same world-class treatment you’ve come to expect from the Akron Marathon over the past 17 years. Best of all, the Series is designed to coincide with training benchmarks and will include cumulative scoring and incentives leading up to our marquee September race.

A: Friday August 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m at the John S. Knight Center at 77 E Mill St, Akron, OH 44308.
REGISTRATION
Q: Will there be perks if I register for all 3 events?
Q: Will you mail or email a confirmation to me?
A: Once you register online, you will receive a confirmation email immediately from Race Roster. Please provide your primary email address.
Q: Can I register on the day of the race?
A: No, online registration closes on August 4. If spots are available after online registration closes, the last opportunity to register is at Packet Pick-up on Friday, August 7, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m at the John S. Knight Center at 77 E Mill St, Akron, OH 44308.
Q: I can't remember if I registered. Can I confirm my registration?
A: To confirm your registration for the Goodyear Half Marathon & 10k, click here for the searchable “Confirm Registration” feature on Race Roster.
Q: Can a race entry be transferred to someone else?
A: Yes. If you would like to transfer your registration to a new participant, please click the Goodyear Half Marathon & 10k registration page. From our registration page click on “Transfer” from the left or right side navigation bars. Once logged into your Race Roster account, click “Transfer to a New Participant” in the blue box and complete the steps as directed. If necessary, click here for detailed directions on how to transfer your registration to a new participant from Race Roster.
Please note the NEW participant will pay a $10 transfer fee. The original participant will NOT receive a refund. The exchange of monies is between the original participant and the new participant.
Q: How do I transfer sub-events/switch events? (example: move from the Half Marathon to the 10k)
A: If you would like to transfer your registration to another sub-event, please click the event registration page Goodyear Half Marathon & 10k registration page. From our registration page click on “Transfer” from the left or right side navigation bars. Once logged into your Race Roster account, click “To a New Sub-Event” in the blue box and complete the steps as directed. If necessary, click here for detailed directions on how to transfer from one sub-event to another from Race Roster.
Please note there will be a $10 fee to transfer to a new sub-event + any applicable change in registration fees.
Q: I was injured after registering for the race. Can I get a refund or defer until next year or a different event?
COURSE
Q: Will the number of runners be limited in any of the events?
A: Yes, all of our events will be capped in effort to provide the same world-class experience for all of our runners. The 10k race will be capped at 1,500 participants. The Half Marathon will be capped at 1,000 participants.
Q: What is the time limit for each event?
Half Marathon – 4 hours (18:18 pace)
10k – 2 hours (19:19 pace)

A: BodyArmor and water will be provided at all fluid stations along the course.

Q: Can I wear headphones while racing on the Goodyear Half Marathon & 10K course?
A: Yes, runners participating in the Akron Children’s Hospital Akron Marathon Race Series may use portable listening devices. At all times runners must be aware of their surroundings and be courteous of those around them, so if you plan to run with music, make certain that you are able to hear audible cues from race officials and those runners in your immediate area.
