The Akron Marathon Charitable Corporation’s mission is to promote health and wellness in our community. Our DEIA Strategy focuses on making our events more inclusive and welcoming for all.

At the Akron Marathon Charitable Corporation, we are committed to fostering an environment of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. We believe that everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, ability, or any other aspect of their identity, should feel welcome and valued as a member of our community.

We recognize that there is work to be done to address historical and ongoing inequities, and we are committed to taking meaningful action to promote equality and justice.

We understand that creating a truly inclusive community requires ongoing effort and commitment, and we are dedicated to continually learning and growing in this area.

By promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility we believe that we can create a stronger, more vibrant community that benefits everyone.

The Akron Marathon Charitable Corporation is striving to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected both internally as an organization as well as externally through participation in our events. We look to create a culture where everyone can be themselves and work in a collaborative effort to achieve our goals.

The Akron Marathon Charitable Corporation established a DEIA Task Force to establish the organization’s DEIA Strategy and outreach initiatives. Three areas of focus were established to include the Disability Community and making our events accessible, and outreach initiatives to the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. Click below to learn more.
